FENDER PERFORMANCE TEST - FENDER RUBBER TSE K 46 NORM

FENDER PERFORMANCE TEST

Fenders are generally tested according to PIANC 2002 guidelines.

The fenders are tested under a special press, vertically and under pressure.

According to the principles of PIANC 2002, the pressure loading rate is between 2 - 8 cm per minute and the test ambient temperature should be 23°C ± 5C.

The peculiarity of doing this test: The reaction force of the fender, minimum and maximum

is to find the damping (Absorption) value. Compression at design value
( deflection ) rate is recorded at 5% intervals and then its absorption is calculated.

The tolerance in the performance value is ± 10%.

With this test performed on the basis of PIANC 2002, it is to find the absorption power of the fender that can resist the kinetic energy of the ship during berthing.

That is, kinetic energy ( joule) = Absorption power. ( N-m ) The factor of safety is excluded. The coefficient is evaluated according to the berthing position of the ship.

In parallel berthing, the calculation is made as if the ship is berthing to the 2nd fender. For bow-to-land connections, a fender must be able to absorb the kinetic energy of the ship.

The safety coefficient is taken as 1.25 - 1.5

Our company can perform all these tests. If necessary, we do it under the supervision of Loyd and you.

Kinetic energy the berthing energy of the ship = M . V 2 / 2 = Joule = ( N-m )

M= Weight of the ship when full ( kg )

V = Ship's berthing speed ( m/s )

This energy response is the absorb energy. N-m

FENDER PERFORMANCE TEST WITH LOADCELL

We test the fenders and other products we produce according to the principles of PIANC 2002.

If desired, we can also test with you.
